The Friendship Cup – Sewanee, USA invites your team, club, league or association to submit an Application for Participation in the 1st Annual International Youth Soccer Tournament to be played July 28th through August 1, 2008 at the University of the South in Sewanee, Tennessee.

This tournament is a sanctioned soccer tournament of the Tennessee State Soccer Association and the United States Soccer Federation affiliated with the Federation Internationale de Football Association.

The Friendship Cup –Sewanee USA is supported by the Academia Deportiva Cantolao and the Copa de la Amistad Tournament Committee  in Lima, Peru which has hosted teams from Argentina, Bolivia, Brasil, Colombia, Chile, Ecuador, Paraguay, Uruguay, Venezuela, Costa Rica, Panama, El Salvador, Mexico, Puerto Rico, Canada, Austria, Spain, Italy, Finland, Russia, Sweden, Uganda, Japan, Peru and the United States.

I. Type of competition:

1) The tournament shall consist of two stages:
• Each team shall play a minimum of 3 games in a group of 4 with winners advancing to elimination divisional playoffs.
• Quarter-finals, semi-finals and finals

II. Tournament Cost

a) Cost: Each participating team shall send an entry form and payment of inscription in the amount of US $400 which will cover the following:
 Team participation
 Welcome dinner
 Awards Ceremony
 T-shirt for each player
 Transportation from the room site to the field of play
 Accidental insurance (only for Americans and residents)

b) Housing arrangements:
• Housing choices : The organization offers the following alternatives :
• Meals : Complete (breakfast, lunch and dinner) for US $25 per day

c) Other services:
• Transportation from Atlanta to housing site: US $50/person
• Transportation from housing site to Atlanta: US $50/person

The maximum number of participants of each team will be 18 or 15 (as indicated) which could include 4 persons such as 2 coaches and 2 delegates.  The remainder would consist of players.
